Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are currently searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be a qualified professional who must have a minimum qualification of a Bachelors/Masters Degree in Engineering (BEng/MEng), achieved Chartered status or be in the process of finalising their CEng submission, and more than 8 years experience.

Job Requirements

Essential Experience

8 years gained within an engineering consultancy.
Proven track record of project design through concept to detailed.
Fully conversant with Microsoft office.
Operator skills on Autodesk CAD systems.

Desirable Experience

Middle east design experience.
Large scale phased refurbishment works.
Management, collaboration and team work.

Qualification

Bachelors Degree in Engineering (BEng) or Masters Degree in Engineering (MEng).
Membership of a recognised professional body (CIBSE, IET, IMechE or ASHRAE).

Responsibilities

Undertake Electrical building services engineering design, from Concept stage through to production information at tender stage.
Plan and manage CAD documentation of design work.
Under guidance of more senior staff, represent BH at meetings with clients, other professionals and suppliers.
Carry out project work within agreed deadlines and within budget.
Meet appropriate service/design decisions.
Inform more senior staff and peers of important and relevant service/design decisions, assert that the objectives of the company and the client are being achieved.
Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team.
Work competently on an independent basis.
Prepare technical and financial schedules for new work.
Manage workload of Project Discipline Engineers and Technicians (including verification of quality).
Prepare and take responsibility for concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detail design.
Prepare Technical Specifications.
Monitor financial performance of jobs.
Set up and manage job/project administrative systems, including planning and monitoring job resourcing/expenditure (adjusting these as necessary).
Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the clients best interests and that BH policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc.
Add value to a project and think beyond own discipline.
Have a flexible approach and be a team player.
Commitment to CPD and self learning / development.

Requirements

Significant post graduate and senior experience in a design consultancy environment.
Ideally previous experience of design in Middle Eastern or equivalent climates.
Experience of highly serviced environments.
A good understanding of architecture and a desire to contribute to the built environment.
Experience of contributing to multiple projects and balancing workload requirements.
Career minded and looking for a new challenge, with the potential and ambition to progress within the firm.
Working knowledge of AutoCad software.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages.
Working knowledge and understanding of British, European and ideally International standards.
Good communication skills.
Confident and proactive character.
