Senior Engineer (Civil)

As our Water and Environment Division in the Middle East continues to expand, we have recently won a number of high profile projects for private developments, utility companies and government organisations. We are seeking to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer, to oversee construction supervision of major potable water ductile iron transmission pipelines. This is for a large and prestigious project in Bahrain.

Duties will include:
- working as Client Representative within a multi-disciplinary team, for supervision of the construction works which are being carried out under lump sum contracts
- review/comment and approve Contractor's shop designs, material submittals, drawings and other project relevant documentation and correspondence;
- plan, monitor and supervise work of other construction supervision Engineers;
- participate in Client and Contractor facing technical and progress meetings;
- Coordinate with the Client and Contractor and particular focus on liaising with relevant Authorities and overseeing wayleave applications;
- proactive liaison with all parties for site safety;
- ensure prompt exchange and recording of correspondence and approvals

Requirements

The candidate must have the following skills and experience
- bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- minimum of 13 years of engineering experience, 10 of which will have been in construction supervision and 5 years on projects in water sector in the Middle East
- possess strong technical knowledge and site management background in large diameter ductile iron transmission pipes for potable water
- above and below ground, associated reinforced concrete and steel structures, and working with varying ground conditions
- demonstrate competence in managing and leading other team members
- familiarity with applicable international standards;
- experience within a consultancy environment specifically in the water/wastewater industry;
- must have previously worked on potable water ductile iron pipeline projects;
- strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language, with good report writing, analytical and computer skills.
