Senior Engineer - Electrical ICA

Job description / Role

- Undertake assignments on multi-disciplinary projects within teams of civil, mechanical, process and electrical/I&C engineers, including the provision of appropriate technical and managerial services;
- Provide professional support to the management team within the Division, helping to ensure high quality service delivery and a coordinated response to Clients;
- Review Contractor's designs and material submissions;
- Inspect work in progress for conformance to specifications, approved drawings and methods;
- Review, monitor and report on progress of works;
- Check plant, equipment and materials delivered are as approved and are properly stored;
- Check measurement sheets for the work done and check Contractor's payment certificates;
- Attend and chair progress and technical meetings & prepare minutes of meetings;
- Attend site testing and commissioning and prepare reports;
- Check the 'As Built' drawings and O&M manuals produced by Contractors;
- Observe site safety procedures;
- Actively participate in contract administration;
- Report back as necessary to the Resident Engineer and Construction Manager;

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/ICA Engineering;
- Minimum of 13 years of engineering experience, 10 of which will have been in construction
- Supervision and 5 years on projects in water and wastewater
- strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language, with good report writing, analytical and computer skills;
- Good keyboard skills and IT literacy (ideally Word, Excel and Access);
- Good organisational skills, accuracy and attention to details;
- Good forward planning skills;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to work on own initiative without supervision
