Job description / Role
Review and audit project specific plans and procedures in relation to pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and performance testing of facilities. Implement the strategies developed by the Commissioning manager for the commissioning activities. Review and audit the individual project commissioning plans and procedures from Contractors in addition to HSSE procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out, to ensure the safety of personnel during pre-commissioning and commissioning.
Witness key tests for building systems, mechanical and electrical and ensures they are performing within design parameters. Review and oversee the construction supervision consultants to ensure required testing and commissioning forms are updated as required and filed properly. Responsible for following up on testing and commissioning instructions and commitments associated with the project. Manages routine testing and commissioning meetings and monitors subordinate workloads to maximize performance.
Requirements
4-year degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related technical field. Chartered / Professional Engineer from a recognized professional body is desired. 12 years of post-graduate experience with demonstrated testing and commissioning experience in major projects. Incumbent must have a broad general technical background. Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required.
Strong Leadership skills and the ability to lead a complex team, made up of project engineers, equipment vendors, suppliers, operations and maintenance personnel. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, report writing and communication skills.
