Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This position entails coordinating and leading daily audits and monitoring programmes as part of a 3 year environmental compliance auditing and monitoring programme for industrial facilities in Qatar. The consultant will coordinate and/or undertake the audits and monitoring as per the guidance notes, protocols, and operating procedures developed for the project. The consultant is also expected to train staff members in auditing and monitoring and to contribute to the development of a database for the industrial facilities.

The main duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Daily coordination of the environmental audits and monitoring events to ensure the timely submission of quality deliverables
- Leading/undertaking of environmental audits and monitoring in line with the relevant environmental auditing and monitoring guidance notes, protocols, and operating procedures
- Training staff on proper environmental auditing and monitoring practices
- Review and/or preparation of daily environmental audit and monitoring reports
- Ensuring that the quality of deliverables is to the consistent high standards necessary to obtain recognition as consultant of choice by ensuring that Technical Reviews are undertaken by the appropriate consultants on all deliverables
- Applying industry best practice in all aspects of work
- Understanding Quality, HSE and Company Systems and ensuring that they are applied in all lines of work

Requirements

- A Masters degree with relevant experience of not less than 7 years, or a Bachelors degree with relevant experience of not less than 12 years
- Membership of an appropriate professional institute or association and auditing certifications
- Extensive experience in environmental auditing, monitoring and assessment projects
- Experience in working with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in training teams on proper environmental auditing and monitoring practice
- Experience in the preparation of environmental management plans
- Experience in working in an international consultancy
- Working knowledge of international environmental legislation, trends, case law, standards and guidance
- Sound written and verbal communication skills together with interpersonal skills and ability to develop key relationships
- Expertise in preparing literate, high quality reports
- Competent at Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Project, etc.

Desirable:
- Ability to speak and write Arabic would be an advantage
- Work experience in the Gulf region
- A technical skill in air quality, noise, water quality, geology, hydrogeology or ecology would be advantageous
- GIS and database development expertise
