Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:
- Provide environmental related leadership, advice & consultation to all project components through the HSEIA development & environmental permitting activities.
- Advising & assuring site line management on the requirements regarding environmental compliance with the project & partner standards, country government standards & regulations, international conventions.
- Monitor the implementation of social & environmental recommendations in the EIA portion of the HSEIAs.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide environmental consultation & support for development drilling.
- Coordinate the development & execution of the stakeholder engagement plan.
- Coordinate the implementation & execution of environmental management & monitoring, inspections & audits at all sites.
- Co-ordinate the development of environmental remediation plans as necessary.
- Promote environmental awareness among the staff & contractors.
- Identify & maintain environmental legal requirements standards as they apply to the site.
- Monitor field environmental programs. Evaluate environmental program implementation & effectiveness.
- Co-ordinate, monitor & advise on the implementation of the environmental management plan & environmental monitoring plan, including waste management & oil spill contingency planning.
- Co-ordinate & provide guidance on sampling for air emission, waste management planning & produced water monitoring.
- Be involved in the review of emergency drills/exercises which relate to environmental incidents, eg: gas leak, oil spill/leaking, chemical spill/leaking, blow-out & natural disasters.
- Coordinate environmental training as necessary.

Requirements

- Bachelor Degree in engineering with Environment subject as specialization from an accredited university with minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in the oil/gas industry in a similar role.
- Experience in large-scale oil/gas & petrochemical capital projects preferred.
- Has clearly demonstrated strong HSE competence.
- Demonstrated interpersonal / team building skills.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to accomplish results under pressure while remaining flexible to rapidly changing conditions & priorities.
- Strategic thinking, ability to translate strategy into action.
