Employment: Full Time

The Senior Equipment Manager manages all phases of assigned projects through implementation, including budgeting, scheduling, planning, design, construction documents, procurement, and installation.

The Senior Equipment Manager primary role includes complete oversight and direction over all aspects of assigned projects and activities of project teams.

This position is responsible for quality control, first-rate customer service and client relations, with a keen eye towards quality, profitability, and timely results.

- Provide the Project Manager with equipment and project information to allow for a successful team project completion.
- Participate in a team approach to implementing the equipment planning process
- Develop medical equipment budgets for healthcare construction projects.
- Evaluate medical equipment and related systems with respect to age, condition, and technological status.
- Assist the Owner/Client with the selection of medical equipment and related systems.
- Evaluates, locates and recommends equipment to be purchased for new medical facilities, major renovations and expansion of existing medical facilities.
- Assemble medical equipment specifications and coordinate the development of healthcare systems vendor drawings.
- Participate and manage the development of the ASE books.
- Facilitates meetings with medical personnel to establish appropriate placement and use of medical equipment for patient care.
- Reviews project drawings and coordinates equipment requirements on the plans.
- Establishes a communication network between the project team, facility, divisional personnel, architects and contractors.
- Works with architectural consultants and contractors to review drawings identify and note design/equipment conflicts and work to reconcile drawings to functionality, and provide equipment specifications.
- Oversee the production of equipment lists provided to purchasing.
- Responsible for providing project equipment lists within established standards and guidelines.
- Provide technical support to architect, engineer and contractor.
- Recognizes the financial aspect of a project and basic accounting principals involved in ensuring the projects and firms profitability. Responsible for maintaining established billable work ratio.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies and product.
- Participate on multiple and diverse healthcare construction projects simultaneously. (must be mastered before moving to the next level)
- Sets daily priorities to meet established project deadlines.
- Assists in pursuit of new job opportunities either through relationship development or identifying additional work from existing clients.
- Ability to prioritize and delegate multiple responsibilities to others.

Requirements

- Healthcare Construction experience and working knowledge.
- Experience in managing the equipment planning process and the multiple parties involved.
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to service multiple projects at the same time.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interface with internal and external clients.
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to use spreadsheets, word processing software and Power Point is a plus.
- Effectively manage essential functions by consistently driving for quality, profitable, and timely results on assigned projects.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, motivate other employees, and sell new business.
- Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
- Three-year degree (preferred) in nursing, biomedical engineering, health care administration, public health or related discipline with a minimum 10 years experience in a medical equipment planning or clinical environment.
- In depth knowledge of the appropriate use and allocation of medical equipment for direct patient care.
- Knowledge of hospital and clinic procedures and department functions required.
- Ability to discuss with medical personnel, physicians, and Administration, appropriate medical equipment to provide patient care.
- Understanding of the appropriate design of a medical department for optimal patient care and the ability to convey these ideas and concepts to architects and contractors.
- Understanding of architectural and design schedules and the ability to coordinate equipment programming with building design and construction.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to manage multiple projects.
- Regional travel will be required to support projects as required.
