It creates and installs top of the range interiors for international hotels, retail projects, corporate offices and banks, Royal Palaces and prestigious private residences.

Now looking to expand our interior fit-out and joinery/metalwork manufacturing operations in Saudi Arabia based out of Riyadh.

Senior Estimator/Surveyor is primarily responsible for the preparation of cost estimates for product manufacturing and interior fit-out projects to aid management in bidding and/or determining the price of the product or service.

In addition he/she will be responsible for the cost effective acquisition of materials and services to meet the company's needs.

The position is primarily focused on satisfying the needs of external customer projects, but also assists in the evaluation and acquisition of materials, tools, rentals, leases and services for internal company needs.

In the first instance and in view of this being a new area of operations, he/she must be able to identify suitable and relevant suppliers, subcontractors prevalent in the market place.

Specific Responsibilities of the position:
- Analyse tender information and other documentation to prepare, time, cost, material and labour estimate.
- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects and/or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
- Consult with client, vendors, consultants and internal departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Prepare estimate appraisals for use in selecting suppliers or subcontractors.
- Review material and labour requirements to decide whether it is more cost effective to produce or purchase components.
- Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers and subcontractors.
- Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hours and related cost data to effect cost reduction.
- Establish procurement strategies for acquisition, receiving and tracking of project materials with management that optimise quality, cost and timely delivery criteria.
- Prepare maintain and review purchasing files and records, price lists, the status of requisitions, contracts and orders, locate suppliers and subcontractors, approve bills for payment, monitor subcontractor performance, calculate the cost of orders, and ensure invoices are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Prepare procurement execution plans and oversee the full array of materials management and procurement functions of purchasing, expediting, shipping, receipt and inspections and logistics.
- Collaborate with management in the negotiation of contracts and lines of credit with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Support, and in some cases lead, cost reduction efforts.
- Prepare monthly valuations, payments to suppliers and subcontractors and the final account for each project.
- Prepare costs of variations and submit to the client/consultant for approval.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in a construction related field.
- Minimum requirement of five years experience in the construction industry in Saudi Arabia much of which has been in the estimating and surveying departments. Preferred ten years in the construction industry with experience in estimating and surveying with an interiors company.
- Demonstrable understanding of the Saudi Arabia (Riyadh and Jeddah) supply chain and a well-developed knowledge of the regional material suppliers.
- Experience negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Excellent time management skills. Outstanding communication skills. Needs to communicate effectively with project teams and co-workers. Strong teamwork and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, work under pressure with challenging deadlines while delivering high quality results.
- Must have good computer skills. Should be familiar with MS office tools, and experienced with financial procurement and inventory management software. Able to readily utilise web and search technologies to enter, access and retrieve data. Requires basic understanding of business accounting and transactions. Should be able to process information in the form of computing financial data, compiling information for financial reports and verifying data from invoices.
- Strong leadership building, negotiating and influencing skills backed by recent and relevant experience of working with the leading Saudi Arabia construction suppliers and subcontractors.
