DETAILS OF POSITION

Position Title: Sr. Exploration Geologist
Department: Technology Group
Country: Head Office, Kuwait
Reports to (Position Title): Tech. Director Geology

POSITION OBJECTIVE / PURPOSE

Understand different exploration stages, from regional exploration to target drilling of Greenfield projects and perform but not limited to the activities listed hereunder.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Minimum Academic Qualifications

Post graduation in Geology or Applied Geology

Required Technical Competencies (List 5 of the most appropriate enabling)

a. Software (Petrel or equivalent + SMT and knowledge of Petromod)
b. Clastic and carbonate reservoirs & tight gas reservoirs
c. Knowledge of Sedimentary and Basement related tectonics
d. Technical skills: Understanding of the Petroleum system (source/reservoir/seal/migration), Play based exploration, Mapping skills, well log interpretation and correlation, isopaching, Ranking of lead – prospect, Resource estimation, Risking the prospects/lead
e. Assessment of subsurface uncertainties and risks, data limitations
f. Data integration skills: core data, seismic, well data, statistical analysis
g. Planning skills: well locations, well design, contribute in operations decisions, presenting drilling prospects to the management for approval
h. Prepare well proposals, well completions and evaluation reports
i. ddddVolumetric estimation of hydrocarbon resources
j. Volumetric estimation of hydrocarbon reserves
k. Understanding of geochemistry
l. Participate in new opportunities
m. Support in meeting the business objectives

Required Generic Competencies (Behavioral)
