Reports To: Assistant Director of Engineering

Job Summary:
- Responsible for the facilities, including the provision of operational services to hospitals units.
- To manage, implement and be responsible for engineering emergencies, breakdowns, maintenance, legislation analysis & implementation and capital/ minor works schemes.
- To provide personnel management of the engineering function accountable to the post, and to maintain up to date knowledge of developments within the location engineering environment.
- To provide technical and specialist advice on the building services environment and engineering infrastructure.
- To provide an effective maintenance service, minor and capital works service and guidance in respect of planning and development of the clinical services. Managing all Engineering related activities within a facility providing a multitude of clinical services with the goal of delivering safe effective and efficient patient centered services.
- Manage the engineering services to ensure compliance with STATUTORY, MANDATORY, ACOP, HTM, HGN, HBN, and to participate in the official role(s) of Authorized person and designated Responsible Officer to satisfy these Acts.
- To advise the Assistant Executive Director on issues of non-compliance with an agreed level of mitigation & performance needed for patient safe services. Lead the Engineering delivery of in house Capital Projects.

Requirements

- Educated to degree level or equivalent, additional in-depth post graduate, professional qualified Engineer with related professional qualification (MIMECHE, MIEE, MCIBSE),
- MBA degree, formal project management qualification will be a big asset,
- Must have comprehensive knowledge gained through working in a healthcare environment for 10 years at least 5 of which must be at mid-level engineering & facilities management post,
- Experience of both public and private sectors,
- Excellent Computer Skills,
- Very good command of English
