Senior Field Services Engineer

Job description / Role

My client is an Automation and Control Systems company based in the Middle East.

They are looking for a Senior Field Services Engineer to support on-site installations, commissioning, maintenance and testing of specifically Siemens PCS7 systems.

Please note that this role will require site work for at least 60% of monthly time, so it is not suitable for a candidate with family commitments.

Duties
- Supervision, coordination, and performance of installation, testing, commissioning as per project procedures
- Troubleshoot site problems/failures and find resolutions to problems in a safe and efficient manner, following customer, company, and international standards and guidelines
- Perform preventive maintenance on systems and field instruments as per company and customer procedures, guidelines, method statements, following all required safety measures for the tasks
- Perform card, system, instrument replacements, following method statements, risk assessments, job card, work permit and applicable company and customer guidelines and procedures for safe, efficient replacements within the specified timeframe
- Supervise, coordinate and perform modifications as per project requirements
- Reporting progress, issues/concerns at site, timesheet reporting and follow company procedures for in time invoicing
- Ensure standardization guidelines are met. Collect standard codes/methods and guide engineers on their usage.
- Conduct field surveys (for Proposals, Service, and Project Orders prior to start of site activities). Liaise with customer for schedules and assist Finance in invoice follow-ups.
- Analyze daily reports and timesheets and guide engineers towards best solutions for a particular order (closure, additional services, change order management, etc.)
- Follow all HSE Procedures and work in line with the requirements

Requirements

- Bachelors Degree in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Good English communication skills
- 4-5 years work experience in commissioning of pertinent system platforms
- Thorough knowledge and practical experience on hardware and software on for Siemens PCS7
- Applied knowledge and practical experience on one or more HMI software and PLCs used in oil & gas plants
- Able to read and understand specifications, engineering drawings, codes/standards and develop functional technical specifications
