Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To lead the financial management of a significant oil trading entity and support group subsidiaries.
Ensure that statutory and management financial requirements are met for the allocated group entities and develop best in class decision support information to Executive management as required.
Support the Finance Director in Corporate Transactions as part of the group strategic growth.

1. Key Job Deliverables/Responsibilities:

1.1 To follow internal financial policies and procedures to ensure that the financial requirements of the group are met.

1.2 For the relevant companies:
Prepare management accounts in accordance with internal procedures including variance analysis to highlight key business drivers to senior management with best in class decision support information that identifies value drivers within the Oil Trading division.
Manage working capital of the companies by ensuring that all suppliers are paid accurately and timeously, all revenue collected within agreed terms and cash positions reflect banking terms.
Develop automated cashflow reporting that ensures bank financial covenants are not breached while maximising efficient use of the Balance Sheet of Oil Trading.
Prepare statutory accounts in accordance with agreed accounting principles and in accordance with agreed internal and external timescales. Develop a reporting framework that moves toward listed entity quality and robustness.
Ensure that internal controls are developed entities that fall within the scope of the role, to protect the interests and assets of shareholders.
Ensure that all inter-company balances are agreed with group-finance within agreed timescales to support the fast close of monthly accounts
Liaise with external service providers e.g. auditors & tax advisers. Ensure clean year-end audit achieved within agreed timescales.
Prepare annual budgets using a zero based budgeting approach. Lead the process to ensure that strategic goals and targets of the group are achieved. Work closely with group finance to ensure that Inter-Company recharges are agreed with other colleagues in other group operating divisions.

3.Previous Experience/Qualifications:
Qualified accountant with 5-10 years PQE
Experience in preparation of management and statutory accounts
Strong understanding of IFRS
Experience of Oil Trading / Shipping preferred
