Senior Finance Manager

Job description / Role

- To follow internal financial policies and procedures to ensure that the financial requirements of the group are met.
- Prepare management accounts in accordance with internal procedures including variance analysis to highlight key business drivers to senior management with best in class decision support information that identifies value drivers within the Oil Trading division.
- Manage working capital of the companies by ensuring that all suppliers are paid accurately and timeously, all revenue collected within agreed terms and cash positions reflect banking terms.
- Develop automated cashflow reporting that ensures bank financial covenants are not breached while maximising efficient use of the Balance Sheet of Oil Trading.
- Prepare statutory accounts in accordance with agreed accounting principles and in accordance with agreed internal and external timescales. Develop a reporting framework that moves toward listed entity quality and robustness.
- Ensure that all inter-company balances are agreed with group-finance within agreed timescales to support the fast close of monthly accounts
- Liaise with external service providers e.g. auditors & tax advisers.
- Ensure clean year-end audit achieved within agreed timescales.
- Prepare quarterly reforecasts with sensitivity anaysis in accordance with agreed terms and to ensure that agreed plans are implemented to ensure that internal financial targets are achieved.
- Produce financial information for company board meetings that support the development of the group corporate governance strategy.
- Lead and develope a small team of Accountants, by providing challenging objectives and development plans that support the development of the team.
- Support the Finance Director on Corporate Transactions including attending meetings with banks, finance providers and key counterparties.

Requirements

- Qualified accountant with 5-10 years PQE
- Experience in preparation of management and statutory accounts strong understanding of IFRS
- Experience of Oil Trading / Shipping preferred
- Big 4 background is an advantage
