Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is Media Group operating across the Middle East and Asia. Head Quartered in Dubai, the group is now looking to further expand into developing markets by hiring additional Finance Staff for their growing operations overseas.
Reporting into the Group Finance Director, you will be responsible for several entities and a team of finance staff.

Responsibilities:

Planning:
Overall responsibility and management for all financial modules and systems from the GL, payables, receivables, POs, Asset management, Stock, payroll, etc.
Key member of the management team and active involvement in meetings.
Complies and completes with all Tax laws and Audit requirements for Afghanistan.

Reporting:
Prepares all financial reports for several entities of the Group, including consolidation.
Monthly production and submission of management accounts to HQ, including actuals vs budget comparisons.

Negotiations:
With external stakeholders such as external auditors and banks.

Challenges:
Managing and supervising a team in Kabul. Ensuring compliance, financial control and operation of all accounting systems and functions. Being proactive in identifying financial deviations on sales, budgets and performance indicators.

Requirements

* 10 – 15 years’ experience in accounting, cost management, budgeting, cash management, financial planning and financial systems.
* At least 5 years previously in a management position or financial controller position where you would have managed medium to large teams.
* Experience of producing and filing statutory accounts is essential.
* Prior experience of establishing financial controls, developing financial policies and procedures and dealing with non-financial staff.
* Fluent English communication skills (written & spoken), additional knowledge of local languages such as Dari and Pashto is a distinct advantage.
* Afghan Nationals will be given preference.
* Prior experience of Afghan Tax rules is an advantage.
* Degree educated in Finance/Accounting or fully qualified.
* Audit experience is required.
* Accounting ERP experience necessary and MS AX (MS Dynamics) would be beneficial.
* Excellent communications skills with various cultures and good presentation skills.
