Job description / Role
Company:
Our client work was established in 1974. They work in all phases of Oil & Gas; including drilling and production operations, transport, etc.
They are looking to recruit a Senior Financial Analyst to be based in Qatar
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage preparation of timely, fit for purpose and accurate monthly/ quarterly/annual statutory financial results together with supporting analysis & management information
As part of the above, supervise the company financial & treasury activities ensuring that sufficient funds are in place to meet operational requirements
Manage and coordinate the accounting structure of the Group
Manage relationship with external and internal auditors, including contracting and review of services to meet the company requirements
Develop, implement and maintain fit-for-purpose policies and procedures taking into account IFRS and other good business practices (e.g. SoX).
Ensure to the company staff are aware and compliant with these requirements
Actively liaise with the Finance team in order to facilitate the execution of finance activities
Enhance the application and use of SAP, where possible, to maximise benefits
Recruit, coach and develop direct and indirect reports to develop a professional and motivated Finance team
Identify & drive improvement initiatives to reduce duplication and achieve simplification and standardisation, where possible
Represent the company, where applicable with third parties (e.g. banking, insurance companies) to maintain and enhance QPI's relationships, visibility and reputation
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
Recognised Professional Accountancy qualification, preferably ACA / ACCA
Up to 5 years post qualification experience with proven exposure to the preparation of statutory financial statements (prior experience with Big 4 accounting firms preferred)
Understanding of IFRS standards and their application
Well developed analytical and communication skills
Experience in ensuring strong business and finance controls
Knowledge and experience of SAP
Strong cultural awareness and proven ability to operate and influence in culturally diverse environment
