Senior Geologist, Exploration (9 positions)

The Senior Geologist will head a Precious Metals/Base Metals section, made up of a number of subordinate geological professionals, reporting to the relevant Chief Geologist, PBM Exploration. We have availability for nine positions, and are targeting the largest Gold and Base metal exploration programme in the history of the Kingdom.

Candidate duties for these positions will initially involve research, ground testing, and drill testwork. Our targets are world-class deposits which have, as their underlying components, high-grade and high-tonnage. Detailed exploration has only recently been initiated on each of these areas, and several million ounce-gold deposits have already been identified.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing development diamond drill programs to investigate known gold and base metal deposits and those which may be discovered as a result of ongoing work programs. Constantly liaise with New Business Development to ensure all work has an economic focus by concentrating only on those deposits or alteration systems which display associations of attributes of size, grade, mineralogy, favorable infrastructure, and/or other economic parameters to ensure the most dedicated work is performed on the best prospects at any point in time.

Requirements

Education:

B.Sc. in one of the geo sciences from an internationally recognised institution.


Experience:

A number of years stretching discipline-specific experience.

Experience in Gold or Base Metal exploration.

Experience with large scale geophysical programmes helpful.

Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.


Knowledge:

Expert knowledge of Mining Software (MAPINFO, DHLogger) and/or other related Applications.

Good knowledge of English.
Computer literacy in geological modeling, exploration and geological software.

Experience in drill programmes and compilation of drill results
Exposure to modern practices in the areas of safety, sustainability and community relations.
Advantageous to have relevant experience on more than three commodities and different geological terrains

About the Company
