About our client:

Safanad, established in 2009, is a global principal investment house that invests in a diverse range of asset classes in the U.S., Europe, Middle East and Asia. With offices in New York, Dubai, London and Geneva, Safanad seeks to identify and invest in opportunities poised to deliver attractive returns over the investment cycle while maintaining the goal of preserving and growing wealth. Safanad originates, executes and manages investments directly from its own capital as well as via special purpose investment vehicles with other investment partners. Safanad currently has an investment focus within the education, healthcare, and financial services sectors.

The role reports to the Finance Director and has the following responsibilities:

• Accounting for service companies and holding companies including maintenance of the Chart of Accounts, inter-group reconciliations and performance of key reconciliations.
• Monthly reporting to Management including preparing and analysing monthly consolidated management accounts and KPIs. Preparation of quarterly Board reports.
• Preparation of annual financial statements at entity and consolidated level including preparation of schedules for audit purposes and dealing on a day to day basis with the external auditors.
• Responsible for day to day management of group bank requirements - maintaining documentation, opening/closing bank accounts, funding cash floats etc.
• Cost control - including processing vendor invoices and performing cost allocations.

Requirements

The client is looking for candidates with the following skills & characteristics:

• Qualified accountant with a globally recognised professional qualification (ICAEW, ACCA etc.).
• At least 5-8 years of accounting experience, preferably in both the audit and corporate environments.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Consolidation skills with a very good knowledge of IFRS for Group reporting.
• Ability to interact proficiently with professional advisers.
• Knowledge of company secretarial matters will be an advantage.
• Self-motivated and able to take the initiative on matters requiring attention.
• Strong team-player, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Well organised with a good sense of structure and an ability to co-ordinate across a broad range of parallel activities.
• Ability to function with discretion and confidentiality
• Excellent attention to detail in both content and presentation of work.
• Strong IT skills required
• Fluent in English
