Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

AECOM are currently recruiting for a Senior HR Adviser. Based in Doha, Qatar the role will be responsible for providing a comprehensive HR support to the business. The role will report into the HR Manager and will be involved in the implementation and maintenance of HR programs, policies and procedures in support of business objectives. Will be responsible in overseeing the delivery of HR Services at a local level.

Support the HR Manager
Be a trusted advisor and partner to the HR team
Develop strong relationships with business units to gain an understanding and sound knowledge of the business
Exceptional customer service; meet the expectation of the business, and HR whilst working to improve the service
Ensure HR best practices support the business in achieving objectives and are aligned with AECOM HR values and priorities

Provide Expertise / Advice / Counsel
Advise and counsel staff and management on the interpretation of policies and procedures
Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge in all areas of HR, both internally and externally
Apply knowledge of direction and trends in HR best practices
Maintain close contact with employees through regular HR visits to sites
Evaluate the effectiveness of current HR programs, policies, systems
Recommend and develop alternatives or enhancements to create HR best practices
Apply knowledge of employment legislation and organisation structures in support of the business

Implement and Manage HR Programs
Assist to develop, implement and effectively deliver and manage a wide variety of HR programs including : on boarding, employment equity, reward and recognition, employee training, compensation programs, employee relations, performance management, organisation changes, conflict mediation and resolution, etc
Manage job classification and evaluation through using defined Compensation Model
Manage the administration of personnel files, systems, records, payroll and compilation of management reports
Assist with the performance management process including performance appraisals, salary adjustments, discipline, career development
Support managers with the performance review process to ensure a culture of high performance. Provide coaching to line managers in handling performance and conduct issues.
Lead / participate in action planning to address employee survey results
Assist to track employee records and report on HR metrics
Assist with the development and realisation of strategic plans, budgets, goals, and outcomes
Conduct post implementation reviews to ensure desired results were achieved
Assist with corporate HR initiatives and special projects and required

Manage and Develop the HR Team
Provide support, guidance, and mentoring to help to develop HR team
Transfer knowledge and provide guidance to leadership as appropriate to support business objectives
Ensure ongoing communication with the management on the status / progess of projects and issues / points of interest
Monitor feedback, track and share successes, failures, and lessons learned as appropriate

Requirements

Solid generalist HR background
Middle East experience Desirable
Experience in an Engineering or Project Management company is advantageous.
Able to manage the complexity of delivering to meet business needs whilst working to HR Policies
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
Able to manage multiple tasks and projects with accuracy and consistency
Understanding of best practice in HR
Able to use initiative
Able to prioritise and respond flexibly to changing demands
Able to manage own time effectively
Able to establish credibility and rapport with line managers and Directors
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
