Project Background

The Al Raha Beach development is one of the premier mega-developments in the whole Middle East region at this time. The development of the site has been designed to spearhead the new vision of Abu Dhabi as one of the world's greatest waterfront cities. Stretching over 10km in length, Al Raha Beach Development is not only impressive because of its concept and size, but because of the infrastructure designed and created to support it. Cansult Maunsell AECOM has been commissioned to transform the ten-kilometre water frontage of Al Raha Beach into a new community and lifestyle precinct for 120,000 people.

Requirements

Job Specification

Reporting to the Road Design Manager and Project Director, Cansult Maunsell AECOM requires a Senior Highway Design Engineer. You will have a minimum of 10 years in the design of road horizontal alignments. During this time the candidate should have gained experience in roads/highway alignment modelling software MX. Experience in Autocad CAD software is also expected. Also preferred is experience in the design of urban/rural freeway/expressways, grade-separated interchanges, exit and entrance ramps as well as road drainage design and familiarity with various types of merges/diverges.

The ideal candidate must have a degree in Civil Engineering and at least ten years demonstrable road design experience. With excellent English communication skills they should also be able to work independently/ program their own work and coordinate with other designers and technicians. Although not essential, membership of, or progression towards membership of professional civil engineering organizations with national accreditation is preferred.
