Job description / Role
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designs and lays out complete systems and components of a Company project with all related facilities, including design elements for which there may be no clearly established precedents.
- Utilizes good judgment and prior experience, anticipates problems at the outset, and provides solutions.
- Prepares highway design criteria, detail design, tender documents and provide design support during the construction stage.
- Leads a highway team- leads the highway design work and coordinates with other design disciplines.
- Coordinates and communicates with the client
- Performs inter-discipline reviews and provides coordinating data to ensure a compatible design.
- Understands and applies company commonly used design standards and methods.
- Prepares manpower estimates.
- Reviews supplier data as required. Reads supplier/manufacturer drawings.
- Completes additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of experience in highway, infrastructure, and land development projects with public and private sector transportation clients .
- At least 4 years experience in Gulf Region preferably, in UAE and Qatar.
- At least 3 years experience using InRoads, Geopak, CIVIL 3D, Microsoft Office, and other road and highway design applications/programs.
- Preferably a licensed professional Engineer.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Project Management knowledge or completed courses in Project Management.
