Employment: Full Time

Specific Role Purpose

Lead or participate in audits of Operations, Engineering, major projects and contracts, performed in accordance with IIA standards and to the highest professional level.


Accountabilities

1. Lead or participates in operations, engineering major project and contract audits as assigned by the Head of Audit.
2. Develops or participates in development of audit plans for audit assignments as required by the Head of Audit or Lead Auditor. Defines the audit scope, objectives and audit program steps.
3. Prepares risk assessment of assigned duties to identify potential risk areas and document critical business processes.
4. Conducts or participates in opening meetings with auditees to discuss and obtain agreement on audit plans, scope and objectives.
5. Performs field work, evaluates results, formulates conclusions and recommends appropriate corrective actions.
6. Works with management to identify and agree appropriate, effective, controls that will be implemented to reduce risks to the Company.
7. Prepares or participates in the preparation of closing meeting presentation and present it to auditees.
8. Prepares or participates in preparation of draft audit report and amends as necessary after input from auditees and obtain the approval of CIA.
9. Perform quarterly audit follow-up and ensure the proper closure of corrective actions.
10. Coaches and mentors the National candidates and internal auditors.

Requirements

Specific Requirements (Technical Details)

1. B.Sc. degree in Engineering (or other appropriate technical discipline)with additional professional qualification in internal auditing or project management and 5 years in energy sector.
or
Degree in Accounting or similar business discipline with at least 8 years of auditing experience of which 5 years in operational auditing experience gained in the energy sector.

1. Fluent in English with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with management / staff at all levels.
2. Knowledge of Oil & Gas operations including asset integrity, maintenance, contracting, project management and HSE.
3. High level report writing and presentation skills
4. Knowledge of audit software TeamMate /ACL will be an advantage.
