Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Senior Internal Auditor, AED 30,000 - 45,000 depending on experience

Job Summary
The objective of this role is to plan, design and conduct internal audits of organisational, functional and contractual activities in order to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of management controls, to add value to the business and to improve business operations. This will involve ensuring that all operational units of the business are properly performing their planning, accounting, custodial and control activities in compliance with management instructions and with company policies and internal procedures. Recommendations for improvement should also be made, planned and implemented across the company.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Implementation of audit recommendations through the creation and/or development of processes and procedures, use of the relevant information system.

Conducting an evaluation and risk assessment of the internal control systems in identifying areas that require an intervention of management whilst ensuring that objectives of the organization are achieved economically, efficiently and effectively.

Ensuring systems exist for the generation of accurate and reliable financial and management information

Preparing special reports for management when required on various aspects of financial management including asset management and security, financial reporting, decision support systems and management of information systems.

Cost analysis through auditing petty cash claims, sales reconciliations and expenses and stock (cold and planned) reporting on the areas where cost efficiencies can be obtained.

Audit of storage and security and ensuring FIFO is being followed

Auditing payroll and cash handling procedures and suggesting improvements

Evaluating financial performance and profitability across all departments

Liaising with the accounts team to assist with the monthly revenue reconciliations.

Preparing Business Analysis reports to understand the growing requirements of the business.

Reporting findings directly to the Board and statutory auditors on various aspects of financial management , including asset management and security, financial reporting and management reporting systems

Research and implementation of information systems

Undertaking ad-hoc projects as required

Additional Duties

Requirements

Job Qualifications
The successful candidate must have all-round accounting experience combined with good IT skills including (Essential)
Experience of working in the hospitality/tourism/ food and beverage industry (Essential)
Ideally ACCA or ACA qualified (or equivalent)
Candidates must be able to work independently and accurately (Essential)
Member of The Institute of Internal Auditors (Desirable)
Working knowledge of software and systems commonly used within the hospitality and tourism industry (Desirable)
Minimum 7 years of experience as an Internal Auditor
