Employment: Full Time

JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Plan and supervise Compensation Unit in ensuring that all Job Evaluation, re-grading, salary adjustment and spot award activities across the company are completed fairly, equitably and efficiently. Manages the processes for Job Evaluation, Professional Ladders, and Spot Awards. Co-ordinates and monitors the Performance Appraisal process.

Principal Accountabilities:

a.) Develops and maintains the company salary and grading systems so that they fully contribute to the needs of a PDO. The systems include HAY Job Evaluation for all management staff, the Professional Ladder system and MEIRC Job Evaluation for all staff below Grade 14 not covered by Professional Ladders.
b.) Briefs Managers and employees on how to prepare Job Descriptions to meet the requirements of the specific system. Checks adequacy of job descriptions and ensures that doubtful job information and discrepancies in duties are clarified. Prepares necessary submissions for the Job Evaluation Committee, and actions their decisions.
c.) Monitors the operation and use of the Professional Ladders to ensure they are properly applied and that their potential for skill development is fully realized. Briefs and assists Managers in preparing re-grading submissions to the JEC. Carries out review exercises on behalf of the JEC to ensure consistent application of the Professional Ladders across the company.
d.) Reviews content of all professional ladders regularly, with Subject Matter Experts and Team Leaders, to ensure they are kept up to date, and reflect the needs of the company.
e.) Ensures the appropriate grading mechanism is used for new or significantly altered jobs, and recommends provisional grades to Team Leader.
f.) Liaises with Job Evaluation Consultants on audit reviews, and participates in a variety of surveys conducted by Consultants or ADNOC. Initiates/participates in salary surveys and job/grade correlation exercises with ADNOC and major Gulf Oil Companies.
g.) Monitors and audits all salary offers to new engagements, salary and promotion increments, and spot awards, to highlight anomalies and inconsistencies and suggest effective remedies. Frequent and personal handling of individual pay related grievances and problems. Ensures approved cases are actioned quickly and accurately.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

9 years broad personnel experience, 5 of which should be in Job Evaluation activities at a supervisory level preferably in the Middle East Oil Industry.

B. A. in Business Studies or relevant discipline.
