Job description / Role
Our client is a French company seeking a senior legal officer to join its well established legal team. You will report into the Chief Legal Officer based in Europe.
The main responsibilities can be highlighted as follows:
* Providing commercial legal advice focused on trading and operational activity, to include contract drafting and negotiation, supporting businesses in MEA territories.
* Regulatory advice and assistance within the MEA region with guidance from the Chief Legal Officer.
* Assisting Chief Legal Officer with project work including financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions and other business development transactions.
* Contract negotiation and advice including IT, storage, lease, etc
* File management and liaising with local counsel in each jurisdiction in MEA
* Assist to meet the legal needs of regional offices, often in coordination with other teams (tax, risk, insurance, operations).
* Research and evaluate local laws in coordination with local counsel.
Requirements
* Senior Legal Officer fluent in French.
* 8-10 yrs experience in General Corporate/Commercial obtained in an international firm.
* Experience in leading lawyer on matters and managing legal files independently.
* Experience in the MEA region preferred.
* Fluent written and spoken English & French is a must, Arabic preferred.
* Ability to manage matters independently.
* Competency in pack office.
* Highly organized and hard working individual and able to multi-task.
* Degree in law
* Must be admitted into at least one jurisdiction
