Job description / Role
A leading financial institution is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join their Bahrain offices. The roles main function will involve overseeing that the legal departments targets are met. This will necessitate:
- Ensuring the that all the institutions activities (branch or subsidiaries) are legally protected in the territory relevant to all the institutions core businesses
- Guaranteeing all transactions by the institution and clients domestic and international are legally safeguarded
- Ensuring the groups legal policies are applied
Requirements
Candidates must have at least 6 years of experience and a solid understanding of capital markets, banking products and activities. Moreover, good communication and drafting skills are essential. Command over the English language both written and verbal is crucial. Candidates must have experience in capital market transactions and commercial banking transactions. Moreover, knowledge and experience relevant to the GCC and in particular Saudi Arabian laws and regulations is important. Candidates must have a law degree and though command over the Arabic language is preferred it is not essential.
