Senior Legal Counsel

Company
Our client is a leading international bank with a presence in Bahrain. They are a global leader in banking and financial services and are involved in retail, corporate and investment banking.

They are currently looking to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel for their office in Bahrain

Duties & Responsibilities:
- List the major duties and responsibilities of this position. Include all important duties and the nature and kind of work. Provide brief examples, as they might help illustrate the complexity of the work. For e.g.
- Provide legal advice to the different businesses and functions across all the core businesses and business lines
- Draft and review contracts and agreements and ensure their compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as their protection of the bank’s interests
- Work with the business on the legal structuring of transactions
- Approve new products and transactions
- Collect and analyze information on legal issues and propose solutions
- Carry out punctual legal studies
- Advise the business on any legal issues with clients
- Participate in trainings and provide information to the bank’s departments to ensure a regular monitoring of the legal issues
- Ensure that the group’s legal policies are complied with
- Comply with all of the bank’s policies and procedures

Requirements

Qualification & Experience:
- Extensive knowledge of Saudi laws and regulations
- A good understanding of capital markets and banking products and activities
- Experience in capital markets transactions
- Experience in commercial banking transactions
- Knowledge and experience in relevant GCC and specifically Saudi Arabian laws and regulations (including banking and financial)
- Law degree
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the financial sector
- Fluency in English & Arabic
- Good communication skills
- Good drafting skills
- Ability to work independently
