Job description / Role
My client, a large well established Insurance company is seeking a Senior Legal Manager to join their dynamic legal team based in the UAE. Reporting to the Chief Legal officer the successful candidate has to develop and implement legal strategy, policies and procedures as well as controls covering all areas of legal activity so that all relevant legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost effective service to internal bank departments and management.
Responsibilities:
• Highlight risks and ensure compliance with all applicable statures, rules and regulations in order to minimize liability.
• Identify areas of unsatisfactory performance and capitalize upon potential performance improvement opportunities.
• Provide advice on all legal matters to the company’s management and board of directors to protect the company’s interest.
• Direct the preparation of the legal section’s budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenue.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in law with a sound knowledge of various laws.
• Must have 15 years of legal exposure with at least 10 years of experience as a legal counsel with excellent regulatory experience ideally in an insurance company in the GCC.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
• Good computer skills.
