Job description / Role
To be the Head of Department for the Furniture Trading business within COAT Division.
Responsible for leading a team of salespersons and designers for providing solutions for office furniture, storage &shelving, filing systems, auditorium and stadium seating, etc. Also responsible for supervising the domestic furniture retail business from the new showroom (business will commence in the 1st quarter of 2015). Completely responsible for formulating annual business plans, and strategy for accomplishing the business plan. Should be able to set ambitious targets, and ensure compliance with budgeted sales and gross margin targets. Will be held accountable for the Departments P&L.
Ability to identify trends in the market for domestic furniture, locate appropriate manufacturing sources and carry out purchases at optimal prices from overseas suppliers is a must. Should also be able to guide merchandisers and showroom salespersons on creating showroom displays that attract potential customers. Will also be required to formulate consumer schemes and offers periodically.
Good man management and inter-personal skills are essential requisites.
Requirements
Minimum 15 to 20 years experience in the furniture business, with exposure to both office and domestic furniture. Should have at least 6 to 8 years
Gulf experience, preferably with large corporate houses engaged in the business of office and domestic furniture. Exposure to sourcing, within the region and from Far East/Europe is a must. Previous experience in storage, shelving and filing solutions desirable. Should currently be holding a position of leadership of a business vertical, with P&L responsibility.
