Job description / Role
Extensive Big Data know how is required. To be responsible for driving Big Data Analytics at Etisalat. They will be required to leverage their deep expertise in Big Data Technologies (such as Hadoop, HBase, Cassandra, etc.) to provide the technical direction and ownership towards designing Etisalats first Big Data solution. Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for designing a reliable and scalable big data platform, provide standard interfaces to query and support analytics for our data sets that are transparent, efficient and as easy to access as possible. Ultimately, the candidate should be able to maintain the big data solution and exploit it to the fullest to harvest strategic cross-business insights.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Being the lead technical architect and Big Data SME for the team.
- Design and build scalable solutions to collect and process very large amounts of data (structured and unstructured), including streaming real-time data using various Big Data technologies.
- Leading innovation by exploring, investigating, recommending, benchmarking and implementing data centric technologies for the platform.
- Work closely across an array of various teams and organizations in the company (including partners, customers and researchers) to champion Big Data technologies and advanced analytics.
- Identify key strategic insights from large datasets and effectively communicate findings.
Requirements
- Formal Education Required: Bachelors degree in Computer science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent.
- Formal Education preferred: Postgraduate qualification in a related field.
- Years of Experience required: 6 - 8 years.
