Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Provide assistance to Head - Credit Review in managing the Credit Review department in effective and efficient manner to achieve departments objectives. Plan and lead / participate in Credit Review of Units. Coaches and guides Managers, Assistant Managers, and Reviewers to ensure that Credit Review engagements are carried out in a systematic and professional manner. Take up the issues such as gaps in Procedure and practice that needs senior management attention through Head

Credit Review. Monitor Managers, Assistant Managers on the outstanding Action Plan items and working papers. Guide reviewer on investigations and special reviews.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Prepare annual Credit Review plan covering units based on risk assessment of the audit-able universe.
- Manage individual credit review assignments to ensure that professional standards are maintained.
- Counsel and guide the team members to ensure that the approved credit review objectives are met and adequate coverage is achieved.
- Prepare and update risk registers and review programs for all credit related units.
- Ensure that Credit Review engagements are performed in a systematic and disciplined approach utilizing these risk registers and review programs
- Prepare and review working papers are adequately documented and review findings are properly supported.
- Report clear and concise review findings to the management in a timely manner and ensure review reports are professional and adhere to Internal Audit Groups standards in contents and presentation.
- Follow-up action plans to ensure that resolution actions are taken by management to mitigate risks in a timely manner
- Attend exit meetings with units to discuss all pertinent issues and remove factual inaccuracies, if any.
- Prepare/review draft reports/executive summaries and ensure that the final reports and executive summaries are published in an objective manner and issues are highlighted in their proper prospective
- Provide support in review of credit policies and procedures by Business Units in terms of their adequacy for mitigating risks. Provide recommendations to revise and update policies and procedures.
- Completes special assignments that are assigned.
- Maintain positive and professional relationship with Banks management.
- Secure management buy-in on review issues and recommendations.
- Attain satisfactory feedback in review surveys.
- Maintain an up-to-date awareness of the latest techniques of credit review and risk management. Ensure that the team members keep themselves abreast of these developments
- Ensures that Credit Review team possess the up-to-date knowledge, skills and competencies needed to achieve their objectives.
- Identify training requirements for self-improvement.

Requirements

- Bachelor degree in banking, accounting, economics, or finance
- CPA or CA or CIA or CISA or CMA or CFE or ACCA or CRBA or Banking Certification/ Diploma or specific experience in specialized area with reputable organization
- 10+ years experience in Credit Reviews
