Job Description

C&I, Commercial Clients and Products - MENAP
Contributes to the right balance of growth, profitability and control of the business by:

1. Supporting the Business Heads in managing all the financial aspects of business and driving business performance

2. Providing senior management with frequent, complete, accurate, timely and valid information as to the performance of the Business on a regular basis.

3. Managing the processes and systems for formulating and evaluating business strategies/performance including planning, forecasting and budgeting, advanced analysis of financial data, product profitability, capital management and liquidity as well as driving cost discipline across the said functions.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Lead and develop Business Capabilities Unit with focus on developing Centralised Support Model and establishing Business Partnership. This can be accomplished by:

1) Provide insight into business performance at a granular level allowing proactive identification of risks and opportunities and arming the business finance team with sufficient and targeted MIS to prompt constructive challenge and debates.

2) Drive and support in forward looking strategic planning, forecasting and budgeting, advanced analysis of financial data and product/segment profitability.

3) While the production of standard analytical reports will be housed in the FSSC or within the business performance unit under the Financial Controller, the onshore Business finance team will perform detailed analytical reviews and provide meaningful commentary on actual and expected performance.

4) Prepare targeted competitive analysis and observe market trends linking performance to the external environment.

5) Assist Business on any other finance-related matters, i.e. ad-hoc client and project monitoring, client performance, strategic agendas, new markets review, etc.

6) Ensure adherence and compliance of local regulatory requirements as applicable and internal accounting and management accounting principles.

7) Manage, motivate and train staff to ensure performance of team is optimized and retains continuous development framework. To set strategic objectives for the teams and to monitor progress at regular intervals.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

This is a senior role within the Finance Function. Good level of judgment and highly analytical mind are required to assess the impact of proposed business activities on performance. An ability to analyze and interpret past and forecast trends is essential to enable effective remedial solutions to be taken and to signal business opportunities or risks. This is an important role given the rapid expansion in the business and numerous new initiatives in the region.

* MBA in Business, or Accounting or Professional Qualification is a plus.
* Command of Arab language is an advantage

* Relevant experience in a middle management position with relevant / specific banking experience.

* High level of computer literacy and understanding of business computing environments

* Strong knowledge of banking products and client analytics.

* Strong knowledge in Management Accounting principles

* Strong analytical skills

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Strong leadership capabilities

* Strong stakeholder management capabilities
