The RoleThe RoleSenior Manager – Financial Accounting. Top MNC! To 40K This is your chance to join a leading MNC within the most exciting and fastest growing sector – Telecommunications! You will be reporting directly to the Group CFO and responsible for managing the Accounting function including the recording and maintenance of accurate and complete financial records in line with international financial standards; preparing financial statements; interacting with the company’s external auditors for the preparation of quarterly reviews and annual reports.. STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES •Analysis of accounting information •Identify risks relating to the Accounting function •Provide inputs for the development of KPIs for the overall Finance and Accounting function •Lead initiatives to improve Credit Management for the company FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES •Manage all financial accounting related processes covering processing and reporting executed by the function, including: accounts receivable, accounts payable, assets & project accounting, inventory accounting, general ledger •Ensure compliance with International Accounting Standards •Ensure that the accounting books and records are maintained in accordance with the relevant accounting policies, practices and conventions and ensure payments on agreed upon due dates. •Drive effective coordination with the IT Department to ensure the integrity, completeness and accuracy of financial data provided for reporting purposes •Liaise with IT department to identify needs for reporting and configuration, installation and enhancement of systems to ensure that the functionality of the system is in line with the needs of the company •Oversee the accounting for joint ventures, where applicable •Ensure monthly, quarterly and yearly end closings are completed, verify financial records, preparation of financial statements, in agreed formats, and ensure timely communication of financial information to key stakeholders •Ensure preparation of periodic financial reports and that such reports are periodically delivered to the top Management. PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT •Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles •Prepare performance evaluation and appraisal reports of direct reports to assess subordinates productivity and progress •Identify training needs for team members |
RequirementsRequirementsTo be considered for the role you must have/be: •Western Educated with Professional Accounting Qualification ie CA, ACCA or CPA •Substantial Financial Accounting experience at Senior Manager Level ideally with one of the largest Telecom Operator or similar services industry •Strong commercial acumen with ability to think outside the box, contribute on decision making level and become a business partner •Strong analytical and ERP skills and knowledge/exposure to IFRS •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills |
