A Public Shareholding Insurance Company incorporated in Abu Dhabi is looking to hire a Senior Manager for Motor and Consumer lines Underwriting. The role will report to the Chief Underwriting Officer. The job will involve developing, in close coordination with other UW heads, new products and enhance existing ones to provide support to the Channels to increase the value of the business proposition for the retail business

Key Responsibilities:
• Define and Implement the Business Strategy for the Development of the Motor and Consumer Lines
• Investigate invitations for tenders from the following sources: Government, letters/announcements, Local Arabic/English News papers, Meed Magazine and other publications.
• Obtain tender documents, summarizes contents with the Assistant Manager.
• Consult higher authority if beyond limits. Finalize Tender submission after it is summarized by the Assistant Manager and submits to Client.
• Follow up tender opening and selection. If accepted, retrieve documentation from Tender file and forward it to the UW team to proceed with policy issuance.
• Attend meetings when required by the Management for any new business or any renewal of existing ones.
• Keep the management informed about any new business opportunity or any relevant matter related to the existing portfolio, including Inward Facultative Reinsurance/Coinsurance from local market.
• Arrange meeting with other Insurance Companies to negotiate any share on big tenders or big accounts.
• Act as a link for any motor business related matter.
• Proactively Analyze and assess the portfolio to evaluate the risk position of the company on a regular basis and address any finding in close coordination with the Risk department.
• Proactively review and address continuous operational improvements in close coordination with the Operations and IT departments.
• Follow-up any enquiries or further information for the Orange Card Insurance and the member companies in this insurance determines the acceptability of risk. Specify the company’s share and advise broker or Insurance companies accordingly..
• Design and implement training programs that support the creation of multiproduct Front Desk teams across all the Service and Sales points of the company.
• Design, develop and implement new distribution initiatives in close coordination with the Distribution heads, including Alternative distribution, Branches and other traditional distribution channels.
