Job description / Role
A major banking client based in the UAE are looking to build out their capabilities within the networking space and need an experienced Senior Manager to take on responsibility for the network domain and internet functions of the bank.
The successful Senior Manager will be responsible for the development and management of the operation, performance, planning, development and testing modification and availability of (LAN/WAN) network services, as well as managing the overall function of the Help Desk, Desktop Support Units and the incident & problem management process.
Requirements
Although this is a senior position and will not require any hands-on technical work - the technical environment at the bank is predominantly Cisco and Avaya based and candidates are expected to have a strong working knowledge of these products.
Further to the technical aspects, the Senior Manager will be tasked with managing vendors and senior stakeholders across the bank - including department heads and director level engagement. As a result, strong communication and relationship management skills are required.
Personnel development including general day-to-day team management, career development and mentoring, as well as performance appraisals and staff motivation will also be a large part of the role and candidates are expected to be able to provide evidence of prior experience in this area.
Given the seniority of the role, candidates will require extensive experience of working within similar roles and environments and prior banking experience is essential.
