Job Title: Senior Manager Projects
Reporting To: Executive Director - Services
Performance Review Period: 6 months

Purpose of the Position
To effectively manage the strategic direction of the Projects Division and all services and budgets relating to operations of the department.
The Senior Manager Projects is responsible for delivering both in-house and outsourced services to the company's existing and new clients.

Key Responsibilities: (Operational Duties)
Work with the Business Development and Marketing team to build the client base and revenue of the division by formally responding to tenders and informally approaching potential new clients.
Responsibility for preparing strategic growth plans and organizational change methodologies to ensure the projects department can deliver world leading services to clients
Management of all budgeting aspects including cost control of individual projects and departmental overheads to ensure profit margins are maintained.
Ensuring compliance of all Project contracts through industry leading standards and effective management.
Develop reporting and automated procedures to ensure communication of project status in both an operational and strategic manner
Network and present at industry associations and with clients.
Communicate operating philosophies, technical information, objectives and expectations to the team.
Plan, recruit and manage team to deliver on plans and ensure full compliance.
Firmly establish and empower site staff to ensure optimization and productivity of service.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures, project management programs, approvals and all technical documentation.
Co-ordinate the Development of the Departmental Policies and Procedures.
A high level of commitment to providing a safe working environment for all staff, ensuring that all defined services are completed in accordance with all operating procedures and within the Health & Safety (H&S) guidelines.
Working with Procurement Department to source specialist subcontractors and then managing their performance and relationship.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience
1. Engineering or Project Management related qualification
2. Proven track record of delivering multiple projects and managing project management teams on time and within budget
3. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing business services teams, including the management of work allocation processes, performance management, staff development and career planning.
4. Excellent level of knowledge relating to Primavera and other Project Management Software platforms
5. Excellent knowledge and understanding of H&S and environmental responsibilities.
6. Customer focused with sound commercial and financial awareness experience in managing P&L
7. Able to translate client requirements into action plans and implement them.
8. Demonstrated high level English written and interpersonal skills, including an ability to communicate negotiate and consult at all levels of staff and to produce reports of a complex nature.
9. Able to establish relationships with clients, suppliers and across the business.
