Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- IT strategic management for business systems support and development for the core business of teaching and learning within the college
- Have a high level understanding of Information Technology with respect to the business and technical structures of a higher education establishment.

The Senior Manager negotiates and communicates with people at all levels, and so must have excellent people and communications skills. The ability to work within a team is an essential pre-requisite, as is the ability to take control of a situation and resolve it with minimal disruption to the business operations. You will have to demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and be able to juggle multiple projects with often conflicting priorities.

Requirements

Typical tasks may include:
- Directing and planning essential IT requirements and services from departments such as; Facilities management; Health and Safety, Marketing and faculty
- Preparing documents to put out tenders for contractors
- Project management, supervising and coordinating work of Systems Development
- Calculating and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money
- Planning Business systems for future development in line with strategic business objectives
- Managing and leading change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities
- Directing, coordinating and leading teams to ensure that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily, and following up on any deficiencies
- Using performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvements
- Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise

Preference will be given to those applicants with exposure to Facility Management structures

About the Company

The Australian College of Kuwait has been established under Kuwait Law 34/2000, governing private universities in Kuwait, to provide internationally recognized and accredited education and training to the Business, Engineering, and Maritime sectors. It was licensed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education under Amiri Decree 141/2003 and commenced operation in October 2004.

The Australian College of Kuwait is the vision of its Chairman, Mr. Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al Sharhan, who knows that the Australian vocational curriculum is the best in the world and has brought these world-leading courses to Kuwait to assist the development of Kuwait and its young people.

The Private Universities Council (PUC) oversees the operation of ACK from the governments perspective and has accredited the College to operate as a provider of higher education courses. Initially offering two-year diploma courses, ACK now has PUC approval to offer degree programs as well. A 2+2 course is available whereby students obtain their diploma in two years and can then continue, if they wish, to study for a further two years to obtain their degree. This arrangement is unique in Kuwait.
