Employment: Full Time

The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for the development, management, and implementation of all marketing and communications activities (both internal and external), and utilising all mediums (marketing / advertising / media / internet / intranet etc.) to effectively manage this.

Outputs will relate primarily to the UAE, but the candidate must be able to think regionally and globally to ensure the marketing and communication strategy of the bank aligns with our overall strategic ambitions. This will be achieved by working in close partnership with business clients and the Chief Marketing Officer.

The job holder is expected to lead the marketing services team to develop and implement Islamic Banking marketing requirements, strategies, and campaigns, and elevate our Islamic Banking brand to the leading banking brand in the region.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Strategic alignment and cohesive planning
- Develop and implement internal and external communications strategies with a rolling 1 year time horizon (a longer time horizon may be required to support the business plans of specific business areas or functions). The strategies should align to the available budget whether held centrally or at business level.
- Develop and implement a marketing strategy (with appropriate activation plans) over an annual period. The strategies should align to the available budget whether held centrally or at business level.
- The role holder will be the owner of the Islamic Banking logo and will be required to protect and enhance ADCBs brand value.
- Work in partnership with business stakeholders to ensure that their business needs and priorities are understood and are reflected in both the overall communication strategies & marketing plans.
- Ensure that the marketing and communication events/products offer cohesive messages and align to the strategic ambitions of the bank to drive synergies and build brand value.

2. Internal consultancy
- Provide a consultancy service in the form of guidance and assistance to business managers throughout ADCB to ensure that they are able to deliver optimum value from any marketing, promotional, or communication exercise.
- Specifically to act as a sounding board and independent source of advice to drive forward difficult issues and challenges impacting delivery of the Marketing and Communications Strategic Plan.
- Proactively approach business managers with suggestions as to how they can improve and further progress their strategic plans through the effective use of internal and external marketing and communication material.

3. Budget management and marketing ROI
- Primary responsibility to define the marketing and communications budget for the Islamic Banking team on an annual basis. To provide advice to individual business as to the appropriate level of investment budget required to drive value.
- Primary responsibility to manage and track the annual budget for the Islamic Banking team.

4. Resource management & team development
- Provide managerial direction to the team members within the Islamic Banking Marketing Services Team. This includes informal and formal coaching, performance management, training and career development.
- Share experience, knowledge and insights with the team on a regular basis to build knowledge across all team members.

5. Product Development
- Support Product Managers in inception, planning, and development of new Islamic products.
- Assist Product managers in the development of products notes/materials.
- Assist Product Managers in implementation of training & development programs for the Islamic Banking team.

Requirements

Minimum Education Level:
- The candidate is expected to have a Degree in a relevant discipline or qualification in business management, preferably MBA, CIM or DipDM.

Experience & Professional Qualification:
- A senior marketing professional with at least 5 years experience (minimum 2 years at a senior marketing level) within a large multi-faceted organisation. Proven track record in developing and implementing complex marketing programs - experience of working in a professional services environment will be a distinct advantage. Demonstrable success in the definition and execution of strategic marketing and communication plans.
- Experience of developing compelling value propositions for campaigns and for achieving measurable return on investment.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to get buy-in and support for projects from diverse and often widespread stakeholders. This level requires the incumbent to have strong facilitation and team building skills, tact and diplomacy, influencing skills and overall sensitivity to the implications of change.
