Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job description / Role

Salary: up to 35,000 Plus Family Package

Our client is a well-known Australian owned organisation well established in Dubai with a number of large scale projects across the region which they manage both design and build project phases. Due to the high levels of work they are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their diverse team.

Working both on the contractor and consulting side this is a challenging role where you will need to be able to develop concepts from scratch, working with a team of engineers and architects to conceptualise, plan and develop the design specifications and create shop drawings which will then move to the build phase.

This is a hands on role, where you will love getting involved in the detail. A perfectionist at heart and thriving on being an ambassador for the company will be very important as you use your well-developed relationship skills in meetings and your strong technical knowledge on both HVAC and Public Health to create outstanding relationships and quickly resolve any issues that may arise and assist you in negotiations.

Previously you may have either lead key members of a design team and completed the job through to commissioning stage or you have worked for contractors on a design and build with big jobs such as hospitals or data centres. Also having previously mentored and engaged junior engineers to help them to grow will be essential in this role as you assist to develop the team technically will be of great assistance.

Responsible for the following:
- Meeting time frames of delivery
- Presenting at meetings to the client
- Conceptualise, Planning, Design and Build
- Assistance in prep of budgets, bids, contracts
- Assisting other departments, procurement, estimations
- Problem solving

Requirements

- MEP Engineering Degree
- 8+ years experience
- Ideally Building Services Certification
- Experience with both HVAC and Public Health
- UAE experience preferred but not essential
