The RoleThe Role Leading Architectural, Engineering and Planning Consultancy Location: Kuwait Excellent Expat Salary + Benefits Our client, a leading architectural, engineering and planning consultancy firm, operating successfully in the Middle Eastern region for the past 40+ years, has created this exceptional opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer as the business continues to gain market share within the region. Projects include commercial, retail, hospitality, residential, and educational developments valued at USD150M+. The key purpose of this role is to design and coordinate engineering systems and integrate them into the project to achieve the intended purpose seamlessly. Reporting to the Head of Department and Deputy Head of Department Mechanical; this role is responsible for: Project Coordination (as Project Engineer) facilitate the development of the production team structure, size and composition and project schedule with the Project Manager. Attend and participate in design meetings, ensure involvement of all engineering disciplines in the development of concept designs. Manage development of approved concept design into a schematic arrangement for all disciplines. Assist in preparation of preliminary cost estimates for concept designs. Staff Management - must supervise a project team comprising engineers, technical engineers and CAD technicians. Concept Design and Design Development clarify clients and statutory authority requirements and determine, obtain, collate and analyse design input data. Develop concept designs meeting client brief and to building budget. Construction Drawings analyse the technical aspects of design to ascertain implications of design decisions relative to use of modern technology. Develop detailed designs from concept. Quality control and compliance to manuals. Design / Technical Reports analyse design and technical requirements to compile structured reports and prepare narratives and reports. |
RequirementsRequirementsThe attributes we seek include: Degree in Engineering or Sciences is essential with a Master's in Engineering being highly regarded. A minimum of 12-15 years experience in an engineering or multi disciplinary practice with proven experience in a comparable role is mandatory. Candidates should also be CAD conversant (AutoCAD). Candidates should also hold a professional registration in their country of origin and with the Kuwait Society of Engineers. Team leadership, communication skills and flexibility are required.
