Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Created from the integration of three companies - Oman Refineries and Petrochemicals Company LLC (ORPC), Aromatics Oman LLC (AOL) and Oman Polypropylene (OPP) - Orpic is one of Omans largest companies and is one of the most rapidly growing businesses in the Middle East's oil industry.

Our refineries at Sohar and Muscat, as well as our aromatics and polypropylene production plants in the Sohar complex, provide fuels, chemicals and feedstock to Oman and to the world.

The scope of Work Environment Project (WEP) will cover all existing ORPIC buildings along with several new buildings to be added. The remit of the project involves the development of all the company's sites.

Looking for Mechanical Engineers with Construction background only.
- Manage and execute various project EPC activities concerning to Mechanical (Static, Rotary, Tankage & Package Units) and Piping Work (various piping material specifications (CS, AS, SS, , pressure classes, non-ferrous, GRP, PVC etc.) activities until completion and handover.
- Necessary coordination with EPC Contractors , sub-contractors, PMC Consultants, Licensors and O&M team including the provision of necessary inputs, review of various engineering and construction deliverables.
- Plan, supervise and ensure timely execution of the construction work activities in green field and brown field area in compliance with Project Specifications and quality plan.
- Should be conversant with Specifications, Codes and standards concerning to Mechanical and Piping.
- Should carry sound understanding of P&IDs, Material Specifications, 3D Model, Piping Plan, Piping Isometrics, Material Take-offs, Equipment drawings, Fabrications drawings etc.
- Review progress of work activities with respect to plan and ensure timely compliance, follow-up & remedial measures.
- Interact & involve and seek views from end user function as and when applicable including third parties.
- Prepares documents such as presentation materials for the meetings; preparation of minutes of meeting and following up on results of such meetings etc.
- Construction supervision and management of all mechanical activities including equipment installation, piping fabrication/installation/testing, heavy lifts, transportation plans, HSE aspects etc.
- Ensuring quality of the mechanical engineering deliverables, equipment during manufacturing / installation, piping fabrication/installation, testing, pre-comm & commissioning etc. including review of relevant procedures.
- Keep requisite documentation/records w.r.t. activities at various stages of project, produce reports and suggest improvements.
- HVAC, Plumbing experience.
- Motivates and inspires subordinates, harness their energies and efforts to get things done, leads by example and serves as appropriate role model.
- Strong interpersonal and English communication skills verbal and written
- Team player demonstrating self initiative and drive along with responsibility and integrity.

Requirements

- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Relevant experience in refinery/petrochemical for Senior Engineer - 12 years
- Detailed knowledge of Refinery and Petrochemical process equipment, piping systems, HVAC, specifications, API, ASTM & ASME standrads.
- Experience of similar responsibility in Mega Oil & Gas Refinery Projects would be an advantage.
- Experience in monitoring and coordinating activities of PMC Consultants and EPC contractors
- Leadership and Interpersonal:
- Proven effectiveness in analysis execution, delivering results, promotion of team work required
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong customer orientation
- English (fluent) required.
