Job description / Role
Our client is a major Petrochemical Company with a global presence. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support their building of new process plants required for their downstream business. The client is happy to consider people from all nations on a permanent and contract basis. Previous experience in a Senior Mechanical role is essential as you will be responsible for ensuring the completeness & correctness of MTO and change order cliams.
You will be heavily involved in managing external consultants and sub contractors to ensure provision of the required deliverable within the contract terms.
Requirements
The main aspects of the job are -
Monitor, review and comment on contractors E&I design and engineering work.
Liase with other Engineering disciplines (piping & process) to ensure the overall system integrity.
To take the lead role in handling & resolving E&I design and engineering issues.
Provide technical support & engineering solutions during construction phase.
Interface with contractors and vendors to address all issues.
Ensure as-built completeness & correctness.
Check & review engineering drawings such as P&I diagrams, system architecture diagrams and wiring diagrams.
Handle selection & procurement of instruments/materials & coordinate with the sub contractors.
Requirements

Diligently monitor cost of project to ensure that budget constraints are not exceeded & report deficiencies.
Ensure the design satisfies project requirements and will be operable and maintainable throughout service life.
Management of design technical queries including plant and civil design interfaces, construction issues and commissioning reservations.
Contribute to the technical review of tender returns against defined and agreed scoring criteria.
