Senior Network & Systems Administrator

Job description / Role

Ensure the stability and efficient operation of systems and servers that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by maintaining, supporting, monitoring and optimizing the servers and network infrastructure that runs the company's business applications and supervising hardware section team members by giving proper guidelines and planning.

- Configuring and administration of Windows RAID and hyper V servers for different application & services and their routing updates and version upgrade.
- Configuring and administration of active directory and DNS services and updates.
- Configuring and administration of DHCP services and updates.
- Configuration and administration of Symantec Antivirus server & clients and its daily updates.
- Daily monitoring, controlling and reporting of antivirus clients, routing scanning computers and virus and spyware updates if required.
- Configuration and administration of Symantec backup server and Tape drives.
- Planning and implementing backup & recovery procedures, performing critical backup and restoring.
- Archiving of backup drives for future recovery requirements in primary and secondary site.
- Daily monitoring of backup job status & history, active alerts, error alerts and reports.
- Implementing and administration active directory servers, creating & managing group policies and managing permissions to resources.
- Configuration and administration of ISCSI SAN storage and Virtual hardware creation based on application hardware requirement.
- Designing, Implementation and maintenance wired and wireless network (LAN/WAN).
- Configuring and maintenance of layer switches and routers.
- Configuring and maintenance of VLAN network.
- Implementing and updating security policies for wired and wireless network.
- Various desktop operating system (Windows/Linux/MAC) installations, troubleshoot, re-installation, up gradations and patch installations.
- Installation and configuration of various models printers (Network & Local) and other network peripherals
- Configuration and troubleshooting of Firewall, creating and managing VPN users and updating firmware.
- Maintenance of MPLS IP VPN line and point to point wireless system.
- Administration and maintenance of telephone and access control systems.
- IT infrastructure facility of the organization to be maintained without any downtime
- Control direct cost involved in IT procurements/ maintenance.
- Coordination with IT vendor for regular maintenance & services.
- Keep record of organization hardware asset.
- Keep record of organization software license record.
- Planning & budgeting of new hardware & software requirements.
- Supporting HOD of IT and procurement department for fulfilling hardware and software procurement.
- Provide training and support to system users.

Requirements

- Master Degree in IT Engineering or Computer Science from reputed university.
- 5 + years of work experience in Computer hardware service and support out of which minimum 3 years of experience in Enterprise level of organization .
- Works in accordance with established procedures and technical standards.
