Our client work was established in 1974. They work in all phases of Oil & Gas; including drilling and production operations, transport, etc.

They are looking to recruit a Senior Petroleum Economist to be based in Qatar.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensures that the Company's occupational safety and health and environment policy is effectively implemented in all areas of work under his control, reducing unfavourable trends and ensures that corrective actions are promptly implemented. Develops safety plans and programs in coordination with the HSE Department, to ensure that all subordinates are competent to carry out their work and fully aware of all hazards.
Evaluates the impact of all activities under his responsibility on the environment by participating in the development, implementation and monitoring of a sound environment protection program.
Provides direct input into the economic evaluation and techno-commercial aspects of project implementation plans and economic parameters/sensitivities required for project execution.
Recommends and implements petroleum economics evaluation techniques and modelling systems appropriate for Upstream project analysis.
Models economic and key commercial metrics for case studies and sensitivities concerned with Upstream projects and performance plans.
Provides economic summaries for reference in potential Upstream investment plans.
Supports new venture negotiations and Partner/JV business planning with economic data and analysis.
Keeps abreast of project-related developments within the oil and construction industries in order to improve the company project execution strategy. Prepares reports on developments and industry trends relating to project execution.
Ensures state of the art technology and resources, as well as project engineering evaluation tools are available to the company for Upstream capital program evaluation and implementation.

Requirements

Degree qualified
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Economics, preferably with an extractive industry specialization. Graduate degree in business or economics considered an asset.
5+ years’ experience in business and economic analysis/modelling.
Preferred candidates will have petroleum industry experience.
Computer literacy, including the use of economic models, spreadsheets and database systems.
A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
