Employment: Full Time

Our client is embarking on a program to develop its world-class unconventional resources and is seeking experienced professionals to join their Unconventional Program. They have an immediate requirement for experienced Petrophysicists who have experience with unconventional reservoir characterization and understands the key uncertainties with respect to unconventional field development planning. Of primary interest is experience with acquiring data in and making decisions on placement of wells and completions in shale, tight sand and fracture basement reservoirs.

The client’s position as a leading hydrocarbon finder and producer offers unique opportunities for Petrophysicists to realize their full technical potential. As a Petrophysicist in an unconventional asset you will have experience in acquiring, QCing and analyzing data from all available sources, including drilling operations, wireline logs, cores, seismic and specialized studies / research to produce integrated models of unconventional wells in the subsurface. You will have experience in utilizing these results providing answers to key development decisions that impacts well and field performance. You will also be very familiar with other subsurface disciplines and their role in delivering producing unconventional assets.

Requirements

Candidates are to be degree qualified and have a minimum of 15 years experience with 5 years on challenging petrophysical issues related to unconventional reservoir (tight sands /shale and fracture reservoir / basement)
Technical skills and experience to include:
• Managing subsurface property uncertainties and designing data acquisition programs to address key uncertainties.
• Expertise in Unconventional reservoir log analysis, including calibration with core and analogues, on exploratory and multi-well, field-wide petrophysical models.
• Expertise in acquisition, QC and use of core-derived petrophysical properties, including exposure to unconventional measurements from gas shale and tight sand reservoirs cores.
• Expertise in seismic-petrophysics/rock physics modeling and geomechanics.
• Expertise in fracture basement log analysis (FMI & UBI / sonic) to identify fracture directions, fracture porosity, fracture density & fracture aperture.
• Strong working knowledge of wireline tool responses, including those heavily utilized for unconventional reservoir characterization.
• Hands on experience with advanced log analysis software (IP and Techlog preferred).

Our client is able to offer a competitive salary which is tax free of $160,000 - $190,000 per annum plus 30 days holiday, flights, accommodation in a 100% secured area, medical insurance and related benefits.

This is a residential based position on single status. Our client provides high security measures due to the location.
