Job description / Role

Kentz currently has a requirement for a Senior Piping Material Engineer, based in Doha.
Responsibilities:
Pipe wall thickness Calculations as per Piping Codes (ASME B 31.1, B 31.3 & B 31. 8)
Branch reinforcement calculations as per Piping Codes
Test Pressure calculations per piping Codes
Blank thickness calculation per piping Codes
Preparation of Piping Material Specifications
Preparation of Technical Data Sheets / Specifications for pipes, flanges, fittings, valves, special items like special valves, Strainers, Sight Glass, Spring Hangers etc.Preparation of MTO from P&ID for Pipes, Fittings, Flanges, Bolts, Gaskets, Valve & Special items.
Preparation of Technical Purchase Requisition for Pipe, Fittings and Specialty Items
Liaison with Piping MTO and Procurement groups to ensure correct quantities of piping materials, valves and special piping items are purchase and supplied.
Technical evaluation of various piping & specialty components based on supplier quotations.
Technical recommendation for piping material, Valves & Special parts.
Co-ordination of requisitions for enquiry and purchase.
Vendor document review after award of Pipes, Fittings, Flanges, Bolts, Gaskets, Valve & Special items.
Respond to Site any queries related to Pipe Fittings and Specialty Items.

Requirements
Education and Skills
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
10+ years of experience in Senior Piping Material Engineer role.
Full knowledge of piping codes, standards and practices, like ASME B31.3, ASTM, API, ASME, BS, MSS-SP.
Previous Oil and Gas experience.
Previous Middle East experience is desirable.
