Senior Planner (site based)

We are on assignment with one of the Middle East’s fastest growing Arabic construction and architecture consultancies. They have experienced phenomenal progression in the last fifty years and now have offices located across the Middle East and also South Africa. With over five hundred employees they aim to be the partner and employer of choice for the MENA region.

They are looking to employ a Senior Planner to join one of their iconic projects in the heart of Kuwait city. Working on a multi-billion dollar state of the art leisure complex, this ensures to be a highly challenging and yet rewarding project.

As a key member of the Engineer’s Representative’s Core Team the main roles and responsibilities are as follows:

• To review, manage and monitor the Design & Build Contractors Design and Construction Program.
• To offer advice to the Contractor on the compilation of this programme and thus ease the consent process.
• To advise the Chief Resident Engineer (CRE) of departures which may lead to notifications under the contract.
• With the aid of a planner/ scheduler you will be responsible for monitoring all progress against the program.
• To advise the CRE and hence the employer, of the impact any variations the employer may consider will have on the program.
• You will review and analyse the time component of any claim raised by the Contractor and advise the CRE accordingly.
• To assist the team with recommendations for recovery should the Contractor fall in to delay.

Requirements

For consideration of this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

• A minimum of 20 years post graduate experience in construction or both design and construction.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• 5 years of similar relevant experience gained in the Middle East.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity surveying, Engineering or Architecture from an internationally recognised University.
• Hold membership to an internationally recognised professional body, ie PMP, IPM, MAPM
• A post graduate diploma in a planning related subject would be an advantage
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
• Spoken and written Arabic would be advantageous.
