Senior Planning Engineer – Rail

Job description / Role

Our client is an international construction contracting consortium that has been awarded a design & build package as part of a Metro construction project in Qatar. We are currently recruiting a Senior Planning Engineer to join our client’s project team in Doha.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Prepare overall planning and programming works such as tender program, baseline program and recovery program

• Prepare planning documents with Resource loading and cost loading

• Prepare the Progress “S” Curve, Earn Value Curve, Manpower Histogram

• Prepare the monitoring critical path and schedule impact reports for the project management.

• Update Progress , Resource Analysis and Leveling

• Prepare, monitor, track and maintain project master/key dates/detailed schedule

• Responsible for day to day interaction with client, consultants, subcontracts regarding the progress of the works and Coordinate with procurement department.

• Keep close watch on various activities of project and report to the Project Manager any risk foreseen for project completion and providing suggestions.

Requirements

Personal Attributes / Position Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or any relevant discipline as a minimum is required.

• A minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role in civil infrastructure projects, preferably with underground/tunnel works experience in rail/metro construction projects, majority of which gained in the Middle East, is required.

• Ability to work independently and with little supervision, possess good written and spoken communication skills and be pro-active, willing to take responsibility and a team player, decision making, judgment and problem solving.
