Senior Planning Engineer (Hyder - Qatar)
To provide robust, detailed, fully cost and resource loaded P6 Programmes for the teams. Implementing and maintaining Earned Values principles.
Responsible for the overall planning, development and monitoring of project schedules and reporting processes to cover the Design Phase of large Infrastructure and Transport Projects and extending to Construction Supervision on some projects based in Doha, Qatar. A proven background of working on Transport Projects is a must Roads, Highways and Rail. To provide guidance and steering to the Planning Team and liaising with Clients as and when required. Responsible for all planning activities within the existing team and across the Portfolio. The primary purpose of this role is to monitor, manage and support the Planning Engineers to ensure that plans are produced to company standards.
Quality checking of plans and managing the distribution and publication of various plans is required.
Maintain effectively a project planning and progress control system in order to support the Project Manager's decision-making process to complete the project according to and in compliance with the contractual dates and requirements.
Excellent written and spoken English is a fundamental requirement of this role.
Requirements
Good knowledge of engineering/design scope, job working instruction / procedures, good project control practices in planning and scheduling and overall awareness of projects in the field of transportation industries.
- B.Sc. Degree in Engineering (preferably Civil).
- 15yrs Project Management experience in planning, scheduling, cost engineering with Expert level.
- 10 years' experience using Primavera essential (version P6 essential. P8 advantageous)
- Minimum of 3 years experience of working in the Middle East.
- Strong Transport sector planning experience.
- The Ability to follow verbal and or written instructions.
- The ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations and meet deadlines whilst juggling multiple projects within the Portfolio.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and stakeholders.
- Excellent spoken and written command of English including Technical writing is critical to this role.
- Sound experience of implement, monitoring and maintaining Earned Value across Design elements of P6 Programmes within the Transport sector.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
