Senior Procurement Manager

Job description / Role

Main Purpose of the Job:

The role will be to manage the procurement process on a major programme of works projects for a large Middle East client of ours.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

• To prepare and facilitate all tender stages from establishing the procurement strategy and agreeing this with the Client, through to stages of pre-qualification, selection of bidders, tender document preparation and issue, evaluation, recommendation & award etc.
• In the longer term the role will develop and work along side the appointed PMs and interface with them as in supplier performance and construction procurement roles
• Bringing best practice approaches, working with the PMC functions collaboratively to create joined up thinking and an agreed Procurement approach at a Programme level.
• To demonstrably show the benefits of our approach and the value driven from the procurement approach
• Working with the Category Managers to support development of Programme wide initiatives for the management of essential materials
• To contribute to the wider EC Harris Commercial team engagement in identification of opportunities and the transfer of knowledge amongst teams
• Responsibility for management of Procurement Support resource(s) to deliver the tendering activities and ensure all documentation is managed within the PMC’s document management system (ePPM)

Requirements

• Degree Qualified with experience of procurement for major programs of work
• Experience operating within a Blue Chip consulting or contracting business
• Professionally Qualified by RICs or CIPs or other relevant body
• Strong skills in all aspects of procurement including contractual advise
• Strong pre-contract experience
• Knowledge of FIDIC
• Major AND Multiple Project experience
