Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of complex and cross-functional project oriented work efforts. Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.

Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. Identify and prioritize opportunities for using IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise. Progressively responsible span of control based on level.

Requirements

Required Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent work experience in similar work environment
- Minimum of 10+ years of IT work experience, including 7 or more years managing multiple small and large scale enterprise-wide projects.
- Experience in directing and mentoring a team of project directors and/or project managers.
- Extensive experience in resource estimation methodologies, risk management, budget management, demand management.
- Extensive knowledge and expertise managing software development projects, including COBOL, CICS, DB2, MQ, Vitria, J2EE, WebSphere, Oracle and Cognos.
- Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of Project Management methodologies and tools and understand human resources policies and practices and change management techniques.

Preferred Basic Qualifications:
- PMP or PMI Certification desired.
- Outstanding conceptualization skills to quickly grasp and develop business and architectural concepts and frameworks.
- Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently, attention to detail and very strong customer service orientation.
- Outstanding communications skills, ability to effectively present concepts and issues for both business and technical audiences.
- Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills.
- Superior analytical skills
- The ability to establish and maintain high level customer trust and confidence
- Demonstrated development and maintenance of business relationships
- BCBS or health insurance industry background
